Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11511 — I was riding behind the Messenger

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O young man, shall I not teach you some words by which Allah will benefit you?" I said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Guard (the limits of) Allah, and He will guard you. Guard Allah, and you will find Him before you. Know Allah in times of ease, and He will know you in times of hardship. When you ask, ask Allah alone; and when you seek help, seek help from Allah alone. Indeed, the pen has dried with what is to be until the Day of Resurrection. If all of creation were to gather to bring you some benefit that Allah has not written for you, they would not be able to do so; and if all of creation were to gather to bring you some harm that Allah has not written against you, they would not be able to do so either."
