حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدٌ الْعِجْلُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اسْتَخْلَفَ ابْنَ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَغَيْرِهَا مِنْ أَمَرِ الْمَدِينَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) as his deputy over the prayer and the other affairs of Madinah.
