Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1130 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَهْرَيَارَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ، عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ مَا يَعْلَمُ مَبْلَغَهَا يَكْتُبُ اللهُ لَهُ بِهَا رِضْوَانَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنَ الشَّرِّ مَا يَعْلَمُ مَبْلَغَهَا يَكْتُبُ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ بِهَا سَخَطَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ»
Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A man speaks a word of good whose outcome he does not know, and Allah, because of it, writes for him His pleasure until the day he meets Him. And a man speaks a word of evil whose outcome he does not know, and Allah, because of it, writes against him His displeasure until the day he meets Him."
