حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ بِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللهِ لَا يَدْرِي مَا بَلَغَتْ فَيَكْتُبُ اللهُ لَهُ بِهَا سَخَطَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ، وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللهِ لَا يَدْرِي مَا بَلَغَتْ فَيَكْتُبُ اللهُ لَهُ بِهَا رِضَاهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bilal bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man speaks a word that angers Allah, not knowing how far it has reached, and Allah, because of it, writes for him His displeasure until the day he meets Him. And a man speaks a word that pleases Allah, not knowing how far it has reached, and Allah, because of it, writes for him His pleasure until the day he meets Him."
