Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11231 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْإِياديُّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ عِلْمًا مِنَ النُّجُومِ تَعَلَّمَ شُعْبَةً مِنَ السِّحْرِ مَنْ زَادَ زَادَ، مَنْ زَادَ زَادَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever learns something of the knowledge of the stars (astrology) has learned a branch of magic; whoever increases (in it) increases (in magic), whoever increases (in it) increases (in magic)."
