Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10781 — on the day Sa'd bin Mu'adh was buried

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ أَبَا النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُما، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ دُفِنَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ قَالَ: «لَوْ نَجَا أَحَدٌ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ لَنَجَا سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، وَلَقَدْ ضُمَّ ضَمَّةً ثُمَّ رُخِّيَ عَنْهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) was buried, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting at his grave, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If anyone could have been saved from the trial of the grave, Sa'd bin Mu'adh would surely have been saved. He was indeed squeezed once, then the pressure on him was relaxed."
