حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: أَلَا أُرِيَكُمْ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ، فَاغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَجَمَعَ بِهَا يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى، ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى، ثُمَّ قَبَضَ قَبْضَةً مِنَ الْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ خَفَضَ يَدَهُ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ وَأُذُنَيْهِ، ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى، فَرَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَفِيهِمَا النَّعْلُ، وَالْيُسْرَى مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ، وَمَسَحَ بِأَسْفَلِ النَّعْلَيْنِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَكَذَا
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Shall I not show you how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution? So he called for a vessel of water. He took a handful of water, rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose; then he took another handful, gathered it in both hands and washed his face; then he took another handful and washed his right hand; then he took one more handful and washed his left hand; then he took a fistful of water, lowered his hand and wiped his head and ears with it; then he took one more handful and sprinkled it over his foot while it had a sandal on, and likewise the left foot, and he wiped the undersides of the sandals. Then he said: This is how (the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution).
