Ibn Ishaq's maternal uncle, Musa bin Yasar (may Allah have mercy on him), narrated: On Fridays a bedding would be spread out for Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) in the house of Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), and he would talk with people. A man said to him: Tell me about what has been touched by fire. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I will tell you only what I saw from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions were in his (peace and blessings be upon him) house when the mu'adhdhin came, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for the prayer. When he reached the door, a large dish full of bread and meat was brought, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) went back with his Companions and ate, and they ate too; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went back to the prayer and did not perform ablution.
