حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأُمَوِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لَيْسَ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي عُقْدَةِ النِّكَاحِ شَيْءٌ، جَعَلَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ أَمْرَهَا إِلَى أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ، فَجَعَلَتْهُ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ إِلَى الْعَبَّاسِ، فَأَنْكَحَهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Women have no say in concluding the marriage contract. Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) entrusted her matter to Umm al-Fadl, Umm al-Fadl entrusted it to Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he married her to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
