Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10547 — I sat in the company of seventy
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ قَالَ: جَالَسْتُ سَبْعِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانِينَ شَخْصًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، مَا أَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ خَالَفَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، فَيَلْتَقِيَانِ إِلَّا قَالَ: الْقَوْلُ كَمَا قُلْتَ، أَوْ قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ
Tawus said: I sat in the company of seventy or eighty of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Whoever among them differed with Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) on any matter, when the two of them met, that Companion would say: The position is as you said; or he would say: You have spoken the truth.
