Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10498 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There are

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا طَاهِرُ بْنُ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَوَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمَيْنِ إِلَّا وَبَيْنَهُمَا سِتْرٌ مِنَ اللهِ، فَإِذَا قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ هُجْرًا هَتَكَ سِتْرَهُ، وَإِذَا قَالَ: يَا كَافِرُ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are no two Muslims except that there is a veil from Allah between them. So when one of them speaks foully to his companion, he tears his veil; and when he says: 'O disbeliever!', then one of the two has certainly become a disbeliever (in ruling)."
