Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The chiefs of Quraysh passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while some Muslims, including Sayyiduna Suhayb and Sayyiduna Khabbab (may Allah be pleased with them both), were sitting with him. They said: "O Muhammad, are these the ones on whom Allah has bestowed (special) favour from among all of us? If you were to drive them away, we would follow you." At that, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, revealed this verse: "And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face" [Surah al-An'am: 52] up to: "Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?" [Surah al-An'am: 53].
