Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10258 — Our Eid was only ever in the early part

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا حَسَنُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعْدٍ الْبَقَّالِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: «مَا كَانَ لَنَا عِيدٌ إِلَّا فِي صَدْرِ النَّهَارِ، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا نُجَمِّعُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي ظِلِّ الْحَطِيمِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Our Eid was only ever in the early part of the day, and I have seen us praying the Jumu'ah with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the shade of the Hatim."
