Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10257 — Allah Almighty sent His Prophet ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: ابْتَعَثَ اللهُ تَعَالَى نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِإِدْخَالِ رَجُلٍ الْجَنَّةَ، فَدَخَلَ كَنِيسَةً، فَإِذَا هُوَ بِيَهُودٍ يَقْرَأُونَ التَّوْرَاةَ، فَلَمَّا أَتَوْا عَلَى صِفَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْسَكُوا، وَفِي نَاحِيَتِهَا رَجُلٌ مَرِيضٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا لَكُمْ أَمْسَكْتُمْ؟» قَالَ الْمَرِيضُ: إِنَّهُمْ أَتَوْا عَلَى صِفَةِ نَبِيٍّ فَأَمْسَكُوا، وَجَاءَ الْمَرِيضُ يَحْبُو حَتَّى أَخَذَ التَّوْرَاةَ، فَقَرَأَهَا حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَى صِفَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأُمَّتِهِ فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ صِفَتُكَ وَصِفَةُ أُمَّتِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَأَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لُوا أَخَاكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Allah Almighty sent His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to admit a man into Paradise. He (peace and blessings be upon him) entered a synagogue, and there he found some Jews reading the Torah. When they reached the description of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), they stopped. In a corner of it was a sick man. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why have you stopped?" The sick man said: They reached the description of a prophet, so they stopped. Then the sick man came crawling until he took hold of the Torah and read it until he reached the description of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Ummah, and he said: This is your description and the description of your Ummah. I bear witness that there is no true god but Allah and that you are the Messenger of Allah. Then he died, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take charge of (the funeral arrangements of) your brother."
