Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10227 — the Prophet ﷺ said: When the Children

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السُّدِّيُّ، ثنا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَذِيمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمَّا أَخَذُوا بِالْمَعَاصِي نَهَاهُمْ عُلَمَاؤُهُمْ، فَلَمْ يَنْتَهُوا، فَجَالَسُوهُمْ وَوَاصَلُوهُمْ، فَضَرَبَ اللهُ قُلُوبَ بَعْضِهِمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ» ، فَقَالَ {لُعِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ} [المائدة: ٧٨] الْآيَةَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the Children of Israel fell into sins, their scholars forbade them, but they did not desist. Then they began sitting with them and keeping company with them, so Allah struck the hearts of some of them against others." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel were cursed" [Surah al-Ma'idah: 78], the complete verse.
