Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10226 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بَذِيمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لَمَّا عَمِلُوا بِالْمَعَاصِي نَهَاهُمْ قُرَّاؤُهُمْ وَعُلَمَاؤُهُمْ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ، فَعَصَوْهُمْ فَخَالَطُوهُمْ فِي مَعَايِشِهِمْ، فَضَرَبَ قُلُوبَ بَعْضِهِمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ، ثُمَّ لَعَنَهُمْ عَلَى لِسَانِ دَاوُدَ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ» ، ثُمَّ جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ مُتَّكِئًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «كَلَّا وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، حَتَّى تَأْطُرُوهُمْ عَلَى الْحَقِّ أَطْرًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the Children of Israel fell into sins, their reciters and scholars kept forbidding them from what they were doing, but they disobeyed them; yet they still mixed with them in their daily lives. So Allah struck the hearts of some of them against others, then cursed them upon the tongue of Dawud and Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon them both)." The narrator said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who had been reclining, sat up straight and said: "No, by the One in whose Hand is my soul, not until you firmly bend them back to the truth."
