حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَا: أَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى بِلَالٍ وَعِنْدَهُ صُبْرٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ، فَقَالَ: «مَا هَذَا يَا بِلَالُ؟» قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، ذَخَرْتُهُ لَكَ وَلِضِيفَانِكَ، قَالَ: «أَمَا تَخْشَى أَنْ يفوزَ لَهَا بُخَارٌ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ؟ أَنْفِقْ يَا بِلَالُ وَلَا تَخْشَ مِنْ ذِي الْعَرْشِ إِقْلَالًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him); he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him), and he had a heap of dates with him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is this, O Bilal?" He replied: O Messenger of Allah! I have stored it for you and your guests. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not fear that because of it the smoke of Hell will overcome it? Spend, O Bilal, and do not fear poverty from the Owner of the Throne (Allah)."
