باب من روى عن ابن مسعود أنه لم يكن مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ليلة الجن
Chapter: Those who reported that Ibn Masud (may Allah be pleased with him) was not with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Night of the Jinn
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 10075 — he ﷺ said: Do not be impressed by one

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُودِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَرْفَعُهُ قَالَ: «لَا يُعْجِبْكَ رَحْبُ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ بِالدَّمِ؛ فَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَ اللهِ قَاتِلًا لَا يَمُوتُ، وَلَا يُعْجِبْكَ امْرُؤٌ كَسَبَ مَالًا مِنْ حَرَامٍ، فَإِنْ أَنْفَقَ مِنْهُ لَمْ يُقْبَلْ مِنْهُ، وَإِنْ أَمْسَكَ لَمْ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ، وَإِنْ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَهُ كَانَ زَادَهُ إِلَى النَّارِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) as a marfu' report that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not be impressed by one whose arms are wide open in shedding blood (who kills a great deal), for with Allah there is appointed for him a killer who will never die. And do not be impressed by a man who has earned wealth from what is unlawful: if he spends from it, it will not be accepted from him; if he holds on to it, it will not be blessed for him; and if he dies and leaves it behind, it will be his provision for the journey to the Fire."
