حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِلْأَعْمَشِ: عَلَى مَنْ قَرَأْتَ {وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْ} [المدثر: ٥] ؟ قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ، وَقَرَأَ يَحْيَى عَلَى عَلْقَمَةَ، وَقَرَأَ عَلْقَمَةُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَقَرَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Yahya bin Zakariyya al-Ansari said: I asked al-A'mash: From whom did you learn the recitation "Wa al-rujza fahjur" [Surah al-Muddaththir: 5]? He said: I recited it to Yahya bin Wathhab, and Yahya recited it to Alqamah, and Alqamah recited it to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) recited it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
