قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : لَمَّا بَعَثَ اللهُ تَعَالَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ قَالَ : أَيَّ شَيْءٍ أَقُولُ ؟ قَالَ : قُلْ : أَهْيَا شَرْ أَهْيَا قَالَ الْأَعْمَشُ : فَفَسَّرُوهُ : " الْحَيُّ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ، وَالْحَيُّ بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When Allah Almighty sent Musa (blessings and peace be upon him) to Pharaoh (with the message), he said: "(O Lord!) What shall I say (to Pharaoh)?" Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: "Say (to him): 'Ahya sharu ahya.'" Imam al-A'mash (may Allah have mercy on him) explained these words as follows: "The One who was Ever-Living before everything came into being, and who will remain Ever-Living after everything has perished."
Takhrij and grading: Imam Ishaq bin Rahwayh recorded this report in his Musnad (hadith: 1251); its chain is munqati' (broken), because it is not established that the narrator Abu Ubaydah bin Abdullah bin Mas'ud heard from his father.

وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : لا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ آذَوْا مُوسَى فَبَرَّأَهُ اللهُ قَالَ : صَعِدَ مُوسَى وَهَارُونُ الْجَبَلَ فَمَاتَ هَارُونُ ، فَقَالَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ : أَنْتَ قَتَلْتَهُ ! وَكَانَ أَشَدَّ حُبًّا لَنَا مِنْكَ ، وَأَلْيَنَ لَنَا مِنْكَ ، فَآذَوْهُ بِذَلِكَ ، فَأَمَرَ اللهُ تَعَالَى الْمَلَائِكَةَ فَحَمَلُوهُ حَتَّى مَرُّوا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، فَتَكَلَّمَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ بِمَوْتِهِ حَتَّى عَرَفَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّهُ قَدْ مَاتَ ، فَانْطَلَقُوا بِهِ فَدَفَنُوهُ ، فَلَمْ يَطَّلِعْ عَلَى قَبْرِهِ أَحَدٌ مِنْ خَلْقِ اللهِ تَعَالَى إِلَّا الرَّخَمُ ؛ فَجَعَلَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَصَمَّ أَبْكَمَ
هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, "Do not be like those who harmed Musa, and Allah cleared him" [Surah al-Ahzab: 69], that he said: "Musa and Harun (peace be upon them both) climbed the mountain, and Harun (peace be upon him) passed away. At this the Children of Israel said (to Musa (peace be upon him)): 'You have killed him! Yet he loved us more than you do and was gentler with us than you.' So they hurt him with these words. Then Allah Almighty commanded the angels, and they carried him (the blessed body of Harun (peace be upon him)) until they passed by the Children of Israel, and the angels spoke of his death until the Children of Israel came to know for certain that he had died. Then they took him away and buried him, and none of Allah Almighty's creation came to know the place of his grave except the vulture; so Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, made it (that bird) deaf and dumb."

وَقَالَ عَبْدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ الَّذِينَ جَاوَزُوا الْبَحْرَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ سِبْطًا ، فَكَانَ فِي كُلِّ طَرِيقٍ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا ، كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ وَلَدِ يَعْقُوبَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ "
( 139 ) وَسَيَأْتِي إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ تَعَالَى فِي تَفْسِيرِ الْبَقَرَةِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ هَذَا .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Among the companions of Musa (may Allah's mercy and peace be upon him) who crossed the sea (along with the Children of Israel) there were twelve tribes, and on each path (formed miraculously when the sea parted) there were twelve thousand people, all of them from the descendants of Ya'qub (may Allah's mercy and peace be upon him)."

وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ ، ثَنَا سَلَّامٌ ، عَنْ زَيْدٍ الْعَمِّيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " فُلِقَ الْبَحْرُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The sea was split for (the deliverance of) the Children of Israel on the very day of Ashura (the tenth of Muharram)."
