قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، ( ح ) .
3217 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، ثَنَا زَيْدٌ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ أَيِسَ أَنْ يُعْبَدَ فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا آخِرَ الزَّمَانِ ، وَقَدْ رَضِيَ مِنْكُمْ بِمُحَقَّرَاتِ الْأَعْمَالِ ، فَاحْذَرُوهُ عَلَى دِينِكُمْ " ، الْحَدِيثَ .
3217 \ 2 - وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، ثَنَا زَيْدٌ ، ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ قَدْ أَيِسَ أَنْ يُعْبَدَ فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا آخِرَ الزَّمَانِ ، وَقَدْ رَضِيَ مِنْكُمْ بِمُحَقَّرَاتِ الْأَعْمَالِ ، فَاحْذَرُوهُ عَلَى دِينِكُمْ " ، الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people! Satan has indeed despaired of being worshipped in this land of yours at the end of time, but he is pleased with you in those deeds of yours which you consider minor and insignificant. So be alert and on guard against him for the protection of your religion."
There is weakness in the chain of this narration because of a narrator named Musa bin Ubaydah al-Rabadhi, though there are supporting reports (shawahid) for this subject in other books of hadith which confirm its meaning.

وَقَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ : حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدَةَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يُحَرِّمْ حُرْمَةً إِلَّا وَقَدْ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ سَيَطَّلِعُهَا مِنْكُمْ مُطَّلِعٌ ، أَلَا فَإِنِّي مُمْسِكٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ أَنْ تَتَهَافَتُوا فِي النَّارِ كَمَا يَتَهَافَتُ الذُّبَابُ " .
3218 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، بِهِ . إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ " وَزَادَ : " كَمَا يَتَهَافَتُ الْفَرَاشُ وَالذُّبَابُ وَالْحَنْطَبُ " .
3218 \ 3 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، بِهِ .
3218 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ ، بِهِ . إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " آخِذٌ بِحُجَزِكُمْ " وَزَادَ : " كَمَا يَتَهَافَتُ الْفَرَاشُ وَالذُّبَابُ وَالْحَنْطَبُ " .
3218 \ 3 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، ثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has not laid down any sanctity (any prohibition) except that He knew (from eternity) that someone among you would certainly violate it. Beware! I am holding you back by your waist-wraps to save you from falling into the Fire, just as flies (heedlessly) fall into fire."
Abu Bakr transmitted this same narration from al-Mas'udi through Yazid bin Harun, except that he related the words 'akhidhun bi-hujazikum' (I am taking hold of your waist-wraps), and added in it: "just as moths, flies and beetles (rush) into the fire."
And Imam Abu Ya'la narrated it from Yazid through the chain of Abu Khaythamah.
Abu Bakr transmitted this same narration from al-Mas'udi through Yazid bin Harun, except that he related the words 'akhidhun bi-hujazikum' (I am taking hold of your waist-wraps), and added in it: "just as moths, flies and beetles (rush) into the fire."
