It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to say to people (because of their many questions): "O people, keep away from me! I have been in the company of eminent personalities who were far superior to me in knowledge and insight; and had I known beforehand that I would live so long that people would come to need me (for solving their issues), I would have acquired knowledge more diligently for your sake. So keep away from me now."
This report is mawquf and the narrators of its chain are thiqat (trustworthy); al-Harith bin Abi Usamah recorded it in his Musnad (Bughyat al-Bahith).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Good and pleasing news is brought only by a righteous and virtuous person, while bad and corrupt news is brought only by a bad person." He (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "The believing man does not engage in foul talk, clumsy speech and pointless chatter."
Ahmad bin Mani' recorded this hadith in his Musnad; however, this report is weak in its chain because of the weakness of the narrator Yusuf bin Atiyyah in its chain.
