قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ حُدَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ وُلِدَتْ لَهُ أُنْثَى فَلَمْ يَئِدْهَا وَلَمْ يُهِنْهَا وَلَمْ يُؤْثِرْ وَلَدَهُ عَلَيْهَا ، أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِهَا الْجَنَّةَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a daughter born to him, and he neither buries her alive (as in the Days of Ignorance), nor regards her as lowly and contemptible, nor prefers his sons over her, Allah Almighty will admit him to Paradise by virtue of the kindness shown to that daughter."
There is criticism of the chain of this hadith because of the narrator named Ibn Hudayr; however, other sahih hadith about raising daughters well and treating them kindly support its meaning.

وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ وُلِدَتْ لَهُ ابْنَتَانِ فَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهِمَا مَا صَحِبَهُمَا أَوْ صَحِبَهَا أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِهِمَا الْجَنَّةَ " .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has two daughters born to him, and then, as long as he remains with them or as long as they remain with him, treats them in the best way and deals with them kindly, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will certainly admit him to Paradise by the blessing of raising these daughters well."

وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ آوَى يَتِيمًا مِنْ بَيْنِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ إِلَى طَعَامِهِ وَشَرَابِهِ حَتَّى يُشْبِعَهُ ، وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَعْمَلَ ذَنْبًا لَا يُغْفَرُ لَهُ ، وَمَنْ عَالَ ثَلَاثَ بَنَاتٍ ، فَأَدَّبَهُنَّ وَأَحْسَنَ إِلَيْهِنَّ ، وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوِ ابْنَتَانِ ؟ قَالَ : " أَوِ ابْنَتَانِ " ، حَتَّى لَوْ قَالُوا : وَاحِدَةٌ ، لَقَالَ : وَاحِدَةٌ ، " وَمَنْ أَذْهَبَ كَرِيمَتَيْهِ ، كَانَ ثَوَابُهُ عَلَى اللهِ الْجَنَّةَ " قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، وَمَا كَرِيمَتَاهُ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَيْنَاهُ " ، فَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مِنْ كَرَائِمِ الْحَدِيثِ وَغُرَرِهِ .

2556 \ 4 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever shares his food and drink with an orphan child of the Muslims until he satisfies him, Paradise becomes obligatory for him, unless he commits a sin that will never be forgiven. And whoever raises three daughters, teaches them fine manners and character, and treats them well, Paradise becomes obligatory for him too." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), is the same reward for raising two daughters as well? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, the same reward is for raising two daughters as well." The narrator said: If the Companions had asked about one daughter as well, he (peace and blessings be upon him) would certainly have said one. He (peace and blessings be upon him) further said: "And the one whose two beloved and precious things Allah Almighty takes away, his reward with Allah is nothing but Paradise." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), what is meant by these two beloved things? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His two eyes." Whenever Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith, he would say: This hadith is among the most exquisite, precious and brilliant of hadith.
Imams Musaddad, Abd bin Humayd, al-Harith and Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith with various chains through Khalid, Ali bin Asim and Mu'tamir bin Sulayman from Husayn bin Qays (Hanash).
