قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ : حَدَّثَنَا طَالِبُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " جُلُّ مَنْ يَمُوتُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، بَعْدَ قَضَاءِ اللهِ وَكِتَابِهِ وَقَدَرِهِ ، بِالْأَنْفُسِ " يَعْنِي : بِالْعَيْنِ .
2486 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْبَزَّارُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، بِهِ ، وَقَالَ : لَا نَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ .
2486 \ 2 - وَقَالَ الْبَزَّارُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، بِهِ ، وَقَالَ : لَا نَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Of those of my Ummah who die after the decisive decree of Allah, His written Book and His appointed destiny, the great majority will die 'bil-anfus', that is, through the effect of the evil eye."
Imam al-Bazzar (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Muhammad bin Ma'mar narrated this same hadith to us from (Imam) Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi (may Allah have mercy on him), and he said: We know this hadith only with this chain.

وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ شُرَحْبِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ يَوْمًا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَعِنْدَهُمْ قِدْرٌ تَفُورُ بِلَحْمٍ ، فَأَعْجَبَتْنِي شَحْمَةٌ فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَازْدَرَتُّهَا فَاشْتَكَيْتُ عَنْهَا سَنَةً ، ثُمَّ إِنِّي ذَكَرْتُهَا لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِيهَا أَنْفُسُ سَبْعَةِ أُنَاسٍ " ثُمَّ مَسَحَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَطْنِي فَأَلْقَيْتُهَا خَضْرَاءَ ، فَوَالَّذِي بَعَثَهُ بِالْحَقِّ ، مَا اشْتَكَيْتُ بَطْنِي حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that he related: One day I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time the Companions had a pot on the fire in which meat was boiling. A piece of fat from it looked very appealing to me, so I picked it up and swallowed it, as a result of which I suffered stomach pain for a year. Then I mentioned it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In fact, the effects of the evil eye of seven people were in it." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his blessed hand over my stomach, and I brought it out (by vomiting) in a green state. So by the One who sent him (peace and blessings be upon him) with the truth! From that moment until now I have never felt any pain in my stomach.
Imam Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili recorded this hadith, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy); and it is one of the great, clear miracles of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
