Cheese

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a piece of cheese was presented to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was said: "This is a food that the Magians (fire-worshippers) make." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Mention the name of Allah over it and eat it."
I (Ibn Hajar) say: Imam Abu Dawud recorded it through the route of Amr bin Mansur with this same chain, but with different wording.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that "he saw no harm, objection or impropriety of any kind in eating cheese; that is, in his view eating it was entirely lawful and permissible in the Shari'ah."
Imam Musaddad bin Musarhad (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this report in his Musnad; in its chain Musa bin Talhah transmits this permissibility from his father, Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and all of its narrators are reliable and thiqat (trustworthy).

It is narrated from Ata and Abu Iyad (may Allah have mercy on them both) that they both said: "There is no harm or objection in eating cheese made by the Magians."
This report shows the juristic view of these eminent Successors, that they considered it permissible to use cheese made by the Magians.
