قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ شَيَّعَ غُزَاةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى حَتَّى يَنْزِلُوا أَوَّلَ مَنْزِلٍ فَيَبِيتُ مَعَهُمْ حَتَّى يَرْتَحِلُوا مُوَجَّهِينَ فِي الْجِهَادِ ، وَيُقْبِلُ هُوَ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَهْلَهُ ، كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُ سَبْعِينَ حَجَّةً مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، سِوَى مَا يُشْرِكُهُمْ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ مِنْ خَيْرٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sees off warriors setting out in the path of Allah Almighty until they halt at their first stopping place, then spends the night with them until they move on in the direction of jihad, and this person returns to his family, the reward of performing seventy Hajj pilgrimages in the company of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) will be written for him; and this is besides the reward in which he already shares with those mujahidin for their good deed."
حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، نَحْوَهُ . لَكِنْ قَالَ : كَأَنَّمَا حَجَّ خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ حَجَّةً بَدَلَ : سَبْعِينَ .
A similar hadith (with the same meaning as the previous narration) is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), except that instead of seventy Hajj pilgrimages it contains these words: "It is as if he performed twenty-five Hajj pilgrimages."
وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثَنَا كَوْثَرُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بَعَثَ يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ إِلَى الشَّامِ ، فَمَشَى مَعَهُمْ نَحْوًا مِنْ مِيلَيْنِ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : يَا خَلِيفَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ، لَوِ انْصَرَفْتَ ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : لَا ; إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : مَنِ اغْبَرَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى حَرَّمَهُمَا اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى النَّارِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارِ ، بِالْمَرْفُوعِ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) dispatched Sayyiduna Yazid bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) (with an army) towards Syria, he himself walked with them on foot for about two miles. It was said to him: O Caliph of the Messenger! Would that you returned now? Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Certainly not; for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever's feet become dusty in the path of Allah Almighty, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will make them both (the feet) forbidden to the Fire of Hell.'"
Imam al-Bazzar narrated this hadith through Amr bin Ali from Abu Nasr al-Tammar as marfu' (attributed to the Prophet).
