إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ - وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ - عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - بِأُبَّاقٍ مِنْ عَيْنِ التَّمْرِ - أَوْ قَالَ : مِنَ الْعَيْنِ - فَقَالَ : أَبْشِرْ بِالْأَجْرِ وَالْغَنِيمَةِ ! قَالَ : قُلْتُ : هَذَا الْأَجْرُ ، فَمَا الْغَنِيمَةُ ؟ قَالَ : أَرْبَعُونَ دِرْهَمًا . وَهُوَ بِالْكُوفَةِ .
Abu Amr al-Shaybani related: I came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) with some runaway slaves from the place "Ayn al-Tamr", and he said: "Receive the glad tidings of reward and spoils!" I said: This is the reward (of the Hereafter), but what are these spoils? He said: "Forty dirhams." This happened at the time when he was residing in Kufah.
وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا مَيْسَرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ السَّعْدِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَا : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثًا ، وَفِيهِ : وَمَنْ ظَلَمَ أَجِيرًا أَجْرَهُ حَبِطَ عَمَلُهُ وَحَرُمَ عَلَيْهِ رِيحُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَرِيحُهَا يُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ خَمْسِمِائَةِ عَامٍ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that they both related: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a long hadith, in which he also said: "And whoever wrongs a hired worker in the matter of his wage, his deeds are nullified and the fragrance of Paradise is forbidden to him, although the fragrance of Paradise can be perceived from a distance of five hundred years' journey."
وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - جَعَلَ جُعْلَ الْآبِقِ إِذَا أُخِذَ خَارِجًا مِنَ الْمِصْرِ عَشَرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Mulaykah and Abdullah bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on them both): "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fixed ten dirhams as a reward for a runaway slave who is caught outside the city limits and brought back."
