Reviving barren land

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، ثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : مَنْ أَحْيَا مَوَاتًا مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فِي غَيْرِ حَقِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَهُوَ لَهُ ، وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever revives barren land that is not the right of another Muslim, it (the land) is his; and one who wrongfully sets down roots (or takes unlawful possession) has no right." Kathir, the narrator of this report, is very weak.
وَقَالَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ : حَدَّثَنَا زَمْعَةُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : الْعِبَادُ عُبُدُ اللهِ ، وَالْبِلَادُ بِلَادُ اللهِ ، وَلَيْسَ لِعِرْقٍ ظَالِمٍ حَقٌّ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The servants are the servants of Allah, and the lands are the property of Allah; and a wrongful root (one who unlawfully plants or wrongfully seizes) has no right."
قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : مَنْ أَحْيَا أَرْضًا مَيْتَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Whoever revives dead (barren and uncultivated) land, that land is his property."
