بَابُ ذِكْرِ سقاية العباس رضي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ

إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا قَبِيصَةُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِلْعَبَّاسِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - : سَلْ لَنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الْحِجَابَةَ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : أُعْطِيكُمْ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا ، السِّقَايَةَ ، تَرْزَؤُكُمْ وَلَا تَرْزَؤُونَهَا ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ لِقَبِيصَةَ : فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ؟ فَقَالَ : لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَى هَذَا ، وَلَا يَكُونُ إِلَّا قَدَرَ سَأَلَهُ .
هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ حَسَنٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ .
1309 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ - هُوَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ - ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ - هُوَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ - ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، بِهِ نَحْوَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : عَنْ أَبِيهِ .
هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ حَسَنٌ .
وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ ، مِثْلَهُ .
وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ .
1309 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ - هُوَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ - ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ - هُوَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ - ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، بِهِ نَحْوَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : عَنْ أَبِيهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I said to Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): 'Ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for us for the guardianship and keeping of the keys of the Ka'bah (hijabah).' He said: 'I give you something better than that: the giving of water to the pilgrims (siqayah); it costs you of your wealth, and you do not take people's wealth through it.'" Ishaq said: I asked Qabisah: "Did he then ask the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about it?" He said: "He did not add anything to this, and he must certainly have asked him." Explanation: This chain is hasan (good). Ahmad bin Mani', Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah, al-Bazzar and Abu Ya'la also narrated it with similar wording; in Abu Ya'la's narration the words "from his father" are not present.
إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : أَتَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عِنْدَ السِّقَايَةِ ، فَذَهَبَ لِيَشْرَبَ مِنَ الْحَوْضِ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ النَّاسُ ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ : أَلَا نُخْرِجُ لَكَ ، فَإِنَّ هَذَا خَاضَهُ النَّاسُ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ؟ فَقَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : لَا ، بَلِ اسْقُونِي مِنْ هَذَا الَّذِي قَدْ شَرِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْهُ . قَالَ : فَشَرِبَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - مِنَ الَّذِي يَشْرَبُ مِنْهُ النَّاسُ .
فِيهِ انْقِطَاعٌ ، وَهُوَ عِنْدَهُمْ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - نَحْوَهُ .
فِيهِ انْقِطَاعٌ ، وَهُوَ عِنْدَهُمْ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - نَحْوَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us at the siqayah (the place where pilgrims are given water), and he went to drink from the trough from which the people were drinking. We said to him: "Shall we not draw out (separate, clean water) for you? For people have put their hands into this." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather give me to drink from this from which the people have drunk." The narrator said: So he (peace and blessings be upon him) drank from that from which the people were drinking. There is a break (inqita') in the chain of this report, and according to the hadith scholars something similar is also narrated as a hadith of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ، ثَنَا يُونُسُ - هُوَ ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ - ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ - هُوَ ابْنُ مُجَمِّعٍ - عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهَاشِمِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : لَمَّا أَتَى رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الْجَمْرَةَ سَارَ حَتَّى أَتَى الْبَيْتَ ، وَطَافَ بِهِ سَبْعًا ، ثُمَّ أَتَى زَمْزَمَ ، فَأَتَى بِسَجْلٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ ، فَتَوَضَّأَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : انْزِعُوا عَلَى سِقَايَتِكُمْ ، يَا بَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، فَلَوْلَا أَنْ يَغْلِبَكُمُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهَا لَنَزَعْتُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished (stoning) the Jamrah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) set off until he came to the House and performed tawaf around it seven times. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Zamzam, and a bucket of water was brought to him (peace and blessings be upon him), with which he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution (wudu). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Banu Abd al-Muttalib! Draw (water) at your post of giving water, for were it not that I fear people would overwhelm you (by following my example), I too would certainly have drawn (water from the well with you)."
