إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، ثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - هَمَّ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ كَنْزَ الْكَعْبَةِ وَيُنْفِقَهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ تَعَالَى ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - : سَبَقَكَ صَاحِبَاكَ فَلَمْ يَفْعَلَا ، فَلَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا لَفَعَلَاهُ ، فَتَرَكَهُ .
هَذَا مُنْقَطِعٌ .

It is narrated from Imam al-Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), intended to take out the treasure of the Ka'bah and spend it in the path of Allah Almighty. Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Your two companions, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), passed on before you and they did not do so; had there been good in it, they would certainly have done it." So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) abandoned his intention.

وَقَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى فِي زِيَادَاتِ مُسَدَّدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، ثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : الْعَرْشُ عَلَى الْحَرَمِ .
It is narrated from Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: "The Throne of Allah is above the Sacred Precinct (of Makkah)."

الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ - مِنْ أَهْلِ كِرْمَانَ - ثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : يُنْزِلُ اللهُ تَعَالَى كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مِائَةَ رَحْمَةٍ ، سِتُّونَ مِنْهَا لِلطَّائِفِينَ ، وَعِشْرُونَ مِنْهَا لِأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ ، وَعِشْرُونَ مِنْهَا لِسَائِرِ النَّاسِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty sends down one hundred mercies every day: sixty of them are for those who perform tawaf of the House, twenty for the people of Makkah, and twenty for all other people."

وَقَالَ الْفَاكِهِيُّ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَحَبَّ بُقْعَةٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَى اللهِ تَعَالَى ، وَهِيَ الْبَيْتُ وَمَا حَوْلَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I know well the spot on earth most beloved to Allah Almighty: it is the House (the Ka'bah) and the area around it."

حَدَّثَنَا مَيْمُونُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُعْشُمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - : إِنَّ اللهَ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - اخْتَارَ الْكَلَامَ ، فَاخْتَارَ الْقُرْآنَ ، وَاخْتَارَ الْبِلَادَ ، فَاخْتَارَ الْحَرَمَ ، وَاخْتَارَ الْحَرَمَ ، فَاخْتَارَ الْمَسْجِدَ ، وَاخْتَارَ الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَاخْتَارَ مَوْضِعَ الْبَيْتِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, made a choice among speech and chose the Qur'an; He made a choice among the lands and chose the Sacred Precinct; He made a choice within the Sacred Precinct and chose the Mosque; and He made a choice within the Mosque and chose the site of the House."
