It is narrated from the mother of Muhammad bin al-Sa'ib bin Barakah that the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), would complete three rounds (usbu', each of seven circuits) of tawaf of the House of Allah one after another, joining them to each other; then she (may Allah be pleased with her) would offer two rak'ahs of prayer for each usbu' (one tawaf of seven circuits).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed tawaf of the House of Allah before Fajr, then offered six rak'ahs, in which after every two rak'ahs he (peace and blessings be upon him) would turn to the right and to the left. The narrator relates: We thought that he (peace and blessings be upon him) had offered two rak'ahs for each tawaf (that is, each set of seven circuits), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give the salam (between them).
