قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ ، ثَنَا عَبَّادٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : تَابِعُوا بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُمَا يَنْفِيَانِ الْفَقْرَ وَالذُّنُوبَ ، كَمَا يَنْفِي الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj and Umrah one after the other in succession, for by the One in whose Hand is my soul! These two (acts of worship) remove poverty and need, and sins, just as the blacksmith's furnace removes the impurities of iron."
According to the hadith scholars and commentators, performing Hajj and Umrah in succession means that when one is completed, one prepares for the other; and this virtue depends on sincerity of intention, through which both outward poverty and inward poverty are brought to an end.

وَقَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنٍ لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : تَابِعُوا بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ، الْحَدِيثَ .
It is narrated from a son of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj and Umrah in succession (one after the other)" (and the narrator mentioned the complete hadith in the same way).
