It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he urged the people, saying: "Perform Hajj, for it is as though I can see with my own eyes (in a time to come) a small-eared Abyssinian man with a pickaxe in his hand, demolishing the House of Allah stone by stone." We said: O Ali, are you saying this from your own opinion? He replied: No; rather, I swear by the One 'Wa alladhi falaqa al-habbata wa bara'a al-nasamah' (who split the seed and created the soul), I heard this myself from your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

It is narrated from the nephew of Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no room for sarurah in Islam."
According to the lexicographers and the commentators on hadith, the word 'sarurah' means a person who, inclined to monasticism, keeps away from marriage, or a person who does not perform Hajj to the House of Allah despite having the means and ability; thus the religion of Islam has completely rejected such extreme attitudes in life.
