قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُدَيْجٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَلَّى عَلَى النَّجَاشِيِّ .
Imam Abu Ya'la (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated this hadith by way of Yahya al-Himmani, Hudayj, Abu Ishaq and Amir, that Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: "Indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the funeral prayer for al-Najashi, the king of Abyssinia."
وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ تُوُفِّيَ ، قُومُوا فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ ، أَوْ قُومُوا فَادْعُوا لَهُ .
هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ ، رِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

It is narrated from Abu Qilabah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Your brother al-Najashi has passed away; get up and offer the funeral prayer over him," or he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Get up and pray for his forgiveness."
This hadith is mursal, and all its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy and reliable).
