قَالَ الْحَارِثُ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مَنْصُورًا يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيَّيْنِ شَهِدَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُمَا رَأَيَا الْهِلَالَ بِالْأَمْسِ لِفِطْرٍ ، أَوْ أَضْحَى ، فَأَجَازَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهَادَتَهُمَا .
هَذَا مُرْسَلٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ .

It is narrated from Rib'i bin Hirash (may Allah have mercy on him) that two Bedouins came into the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and testified that they had both seen the crescent the day before, for Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted their testimony, declaring it valid.
