It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) strictly forbade that any voice (that is, wailing and lamenting, crying out, or calling loudly and the like) should follow the (funeral of the) deceased, or that fire (such as torches, censers or flames and the like) should be carried with it.
Imam Abu Ya'la recorded this narration in his Musnad; however, its chain contains a narrator named Abdullah bin Muharrar, who according to the hadith scholars is extremely weak and matruk al-hadith (abandoned in hadith).
