وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنْ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا يُجَازَى بِهِ الْعَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنُ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ أَنْ يُغْفَرَ لِجَمِيعِ مَنْ تَبِعَ جِنَازَتَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the first reward given to the believing servant after his death is that all those who followed his funeral (that is, walked behind his bier) are forgiven."
Imam Abd bin Humayd recorded it; its chain contains Marwan bin Salim, who is matruk (abandoned), so this narration is weak.
