وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ الْمَكِّيِّ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِنْ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَهِيَ تَطْبُخُ حَيْسًا ، فَقَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ ثَلَاثَةٌ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا الْحِنْثَ كَانُوا لَهُ حِجَابًا مِنَ النَّارِ ، قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، وَاثْنَانِ ؟ قَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : ثَلَاثَةٌ ، قُلْتُ : وَاثْنَانِ ؟ قَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : ثَلَاثَةٌ ، ثُمَّ سَكَتَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : اثْنَانِ يَا أُمَّ مُبَشِّرٍ ، اثْنَانِ يَا أُمَّ مُبَشِّرٍ .
789 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، بِهَذَا .
789 \ 3 - وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ مُخْتَصَرًا .
789 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، بِهَذَا .
789 \ 3 - وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ مُخْتَصَرًا .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her house while she was cooking hays (a sweet dish made of dates and ghee). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has three children die who have not yet reached puberty, they will be a screen for him from the fire of Hell." She said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Will the same reward be given for the death of two children as well? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three." I said again: And if they are two? He (peace and blessings be upon him) again said: "Three." After that he (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent for a little while, then said: "O Umm Mubashshir! Two as well; O Umm Mubashshir! Two as well (meaning the same virtue will be attained on the death of two children too)."
Imam Abu Ya'la also related this narration through Imam Abu Bakr with these same words; and Ibn Ammar reported something similar to it in abridged form from Sayyidah Umm Mubashshir (may Allah be pleased with her) through the route of Abd al-Wahhab, al-Muthanna, Amr bin Shu'ayb and Sa'id bin al-Musayyib.
