وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا رُشَيْدٌ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - عَلَى مَجْلِسٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ فَقَالَ : يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ ، مَا الرَّقُوبُ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to a gathering of Banu Salimah and asked: "O Banu Salimah! Who in your view is 'al-raqub', that is, the person whose children die in his lifetime?" Then the narrator mentioned the whole incident like the previous hadith.
