وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - قَالَتْ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُتِمُّ الصَّلَاةَ وَيَقْصُرُ . يَعْنِي فِي السَّفَرِ .
727 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بِهِ . وَزَادَ : وَيُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الْعَصْرَ ، وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الْعِشَاءَ .
727 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بِهِ . وَزَادَ : وَيُؤَخِّرُ الظُّهْرَ ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الْعَصْرَ ، وَيُؤَخِّرُ الْمَغْرِبَ ، وَيُعَجِّلُ الْعِشَاءَ .
It is narrated from the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), that she said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), while travelling, (sometimes) performed the prayer in full and (sometimes) also shortened it."
Imam Abu Ya'la reported through his chain, in this same narration, these additional words: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) would delay the Zuhr prayer and perform the Asr prayer early, and likewise he would delay the Maghrib prayer and perform the Isha prayer early (that is, promptly)."
