وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ ، عَنْ [ عَامِرٍ ] ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - لِرَجُلٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ : لَا جُمُعَةَ لَكَ . قَالَ : فَذَكَرَ الرَّجُلُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، إِنَّ سَعْدًا قَالَ لِي : لَا جُمُعَةَ لَكَ . فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : لِمَ يَا سَعْدُ ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ تَكَلَّمَ وَأَنْتَ تَخْطُبُ . فَقَالَ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : صَدَقَ سَعْدٌ .

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to a man on a Friday: "Your Friday prayer (is lost); there is no Friday prayer for you." The narrator said: That man mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Sa'd has said to me that my Friday prayer did not count." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Sa'd! Why did you say that to him?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah! He spoke while you were delivering the sermon." At that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sa'd has spoken the truth."
