وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا ، عَنْ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ : أُمِرْنَا بِالْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، قُلْتُ : أَنْتُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُهَاجِرُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ ، أَمِ النَّاسُ عَامَّةً ؟ قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي .
هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ حَسَنٌ - إِنْ كَانَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ سَمِعَ مِنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "We were commanded to take a ritual bath (ghusl) on Friday." I (Ibn Abbas) asked: "Is this command specific to you, the first Muhajirun, or is it general for all people?" He said: "I do not know."
This chain is hasan (good), provided that Imam Ibn Sirin's hearing from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) is established.
