حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرِ بْنُ الطَّبَّاعِ ، ثَنَا مَخْلَدٌ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ لَا يَجْعَلَ بَيْنَ غُسْلِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ حَدَثًا ، وَيَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمُ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ .
It is narrated from Imam Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) that he considered it recommended and preferable that a person not let any hadath (i.e. a state of ritual impurity breaking ablution) come between the ritual bath taken for Friday and the performance of the Friday prayer, and he used to cite as evidence that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you comes to the Friday prayer, let him take a ritual bath (ghusl)."
The basis of this hadith is found in the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim), and it indicates the emphasis on the Friday ritual bath and on taking care of complete purity and cleanliness for the prayer.
