It is narrated from a Bedouin (a desert-dwelling Companion) (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying. He (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed head from bowing and raised his two hands (palms) so high that they came level with, or reached, the upper parts of his (peace and blessings be upon him) ears; (the two hands) looked like two fans."
Musnad al-Harith (Bughyat al-Bahith): 518. It is da'if (weak) because one narrator is unknown (unnamed); however, the basis of raising the hands when rising from bowing is established by other authentic hadith.
