It is narrated from Abu Ziyad, the freed slave (mawla) of the family of Darij, that he said: "Whatever I have seen in my life and then forgotten, I have forgotten; but I have never forgotten that when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) stood for the prayer, he would stand in this manner, and he had placed his right palm on his left forearm, pressed right against the wrist joint."
[Its chain is hasan (good). Musaddad recorded it in his Musnad, as in al-Matalib al-'Aliyah: 474, and Ibn Abi Shaybah recorded it in al-Musannaf: 3951.]
