Al-Matalib al-'Aliyah 4494 — The portents and signs of the Hour

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Hour will not be established until some people of my Ummah return to the worship of the idols which they used to worship besides Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
Imam Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated this hadith in his Musnad; its chain contains a narrator named Musa bin Mutayr, who is matruk (abandoned) and da'if (weak). However, there are other sahih hadith on this subject which establish the meaning that near the Hour some people will incline towards shirk (associating partners with Allah).
