حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْوَكِيعِيُّ ، ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَتْنَا أُمُّ غُرَابٍ ، عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ ، يُقَالُ لَهَا : عَقِيلَةُ ، عَنْ سَلَّامَةَ بِنْتِ الْحُرِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فِي ثَقِيفَ مُبِيرٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Salamah bint al-Hurr (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the tribe of Thaqif there will be a destroyer (an extremely oppressive tyrant)."
Imam al-Hakim declared this hadith sahih al-isnad (authentic in chain), although Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim did not narrate it, and Allamah al-Dhahabi also agreed with its authenticity in al-Talkhis.
