قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوَّادٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : خَيْرُكُمْ فِي رَأْسِ الْمِائَتَيْنِ الْخَفِيفُ الْحَاذِ . قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، مَا خِفَّةُ الْحَاذِ ؟ قَالَ : مَنْ لَا أَهْلَ لَهُ وَلَا مَالَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "At the beginning of the two hundredth year (of the Hijrah), the best of you will be the one light of burden (al-khafif al-hadh)." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by lightness of burden (khiffat al-hadh)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The person who has neither family nor wealth (as a burden)."
Imam Abu Ya'la narrated this hadith in his Musnad; its chain contains a narrator named Rawwad bin al-Jarrah, who has a weak memory.
