حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ قَالَ : ( صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ الصُّبْحَ فَقَرَأَ فِيهَا الْحَجَّ ، فَسَجَدَ فِيهَا سَجْدَتَيْنِ ) . قُلْتُ : الصُّبْحُ ؟ قَالَ : ( الصُّبْحُ ) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "I prayed the morning (Fajr) prayer behind Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him), and he recited Surah al-Hajj [Surah al-Hajj: 1-78] in it and performed the prostration of recitation twice during it (when the verses of prostration came)." (Sa'd bin Ibrahim said:) I asked (in surprise): "Did this really happen in the Fajr prayer?" He replied: "Yes, it was indeed the Fajr prayer."
