قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ بَعْدَ قَتْلِ أَبِيهِ ، فَقَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَمَعَتْ عَيْنَا رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَ مِنَ الْغَدِ ، فَقَامَ فِي مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُ : أُلَاقِي مِنْكَ الْيَوْمَ مَا لَقِيتُهُ مِنْكَ أَمْسِ ؟ .
هَذَا صُورَتُهُ مُرْسَلٌ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ قَيْسٌ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أُسَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ .
هَذَا صُورَتُهُ مُرْسَلٌ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ قَيْسٌ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ أُسَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ .
Qays bin Abi Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) after the martyrdom of his father and stood before him (peace and blessings be upon him), and the blessed eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) filled with tears. Then he came again the next day and stood in the same place, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Will I feel today because of you the same (tender emotion) that I felt yesterday because of you?"
In its outward form this report is mursal (with a missing link), but if Qays bin Abi Hazim heard it directly from Sayyiduna Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him), then it is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim).
